Long Term Planning/Phase II
Where did we begin? What have we accomplished? What do we hope for the future of FBCY? Please find below a summary of our journey over the last 2 ½ years.
Mar 2006: The Long Term Planning (LTP) committee sought Council’s ministry needs/LTP goals for FBC. Every chairperson submitted their goals and vision for their ministry.
Sep 2006: LTP gathered and organized those goals, made preliminary drawings of future construction with those goals/needs as our vision.
Nov 2006 - Apr 2007: LTP met with other churches who recently completed additions to their church, reviewed exterior designs, multi-purpose room and other modifications.
May 2007: Congregation approved solicitation of approximate Phase II proposal costs/Feasibility Study from design/build firms. Committee continued to tweak designs and keep ministry needs at the forefront of all decisions.
Jan 2008: Provided drawings/booklet for prospective design for bid companies, identified reputable local companies, four companies responded, met with each independently. Hogg Construction was unanimously chosen as the most capable of fulfilling our vision.
Jul 2008: Now working with Hogg to assist with Feasibility study. This study will help to identify costs that will be associated with the construction of the Multi Purpose room.
Sep/Oct 2008: A congregational vote will be forthcoming in Sept/Oct to see if FBCY wants to move forward with construction.
Please feel free to contact any committee member with your questions/concerns.
We anxiously await the plans God has for FBCY. Please keep our committee and the Hogg team in your prayers as we journey toward a new beginning for FBCY!Phase II Members
